Wahines and Bros surfing at the Washout on Folly Island, South Carolina

Folly Island near Charleston, South Carolina is known for some of the greatest swells on the east coast. Folly Island is easily accessible barrier island on the coast of South Carolina and is home to a favorite surf locale, known as the “Washout”. You will see Wahines and Bros carving and riding with soft and hard top boards. Everything from the fish to some of the classic longboards of yesteryear. All skill levels are dropping in along this locale and up and down the Atlantic shoreline of the Folly Island. I have lived in Florida, Hawaii, California and other places facing both the Pacific and Atlantic in my 52 years orbiting the sun, and South Carolina has been one of my favorites. Enjoy the surfers and the images I have taken of them in their element.
